Category Archives: Culture of Corruption

Hello my friend, I’m glad you are here!

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters" Colossians 3:23

My name is Peter Krauss and I’m running for Suffolk County Sheriff because there is culture of corruption that threatens the life, liberty, and property of every resident in the county. Do you believe this is true?

Last year the County Executive, Steve Bellone, indicated that there is “culture of corruption” in Suffolk County Government, and he implicated the District Attorney, Thomas Spota, as being the head of a, “criminal enterprise.”  This is a very serious allegation and there is plenty of reason to believe him.

We must eliminate this, “culture of corruption” and electing another Democrat or Republican only allows the culture to persist.  We cannot eliminate this culture from the inside out; it must be from the outside in.

My experience as an NYPD Sergeant qualifies me for the office of sheriff:  Hired as a Police Officer in 1993; Promoted to Sergeant in 2003; Assigned to an administrative position working for the Chief of Personnel and being promoted to Sergeant Special Assignment in recognition of my work for the chief in 2007. Reporting directly to the First Deputy Commissioner every month on personnel related issues.  My experience as an NYPD Sergeant qualifies me for the office of Sheriff.  However, it is my love for humanity, liberty, justice, and my love for God that compels me to run for this seat of public trust.

As Sheriff, the primary goal will be to rid Suffolk County of this culture of corruption and to restore a culture of virtue, integrity, and trust for ourselves and our posterity.

This November you have a choice; you can choose the status quo or you can vote for me.

It’s your life, it’s your liberty, and it’s your choice.

God bless you,

Peter Krauss

The Suffolk County “Culture of Corruption”

There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community. Proverbs 6:16-19

Steve Bellone on NEwsday

In a recent Newsday Article, (****The NEWSDAY Article has been removed from the Newsday Website.  Click here for an additional article from another News Source****)  Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone indicated that there is a “culture of corruption” in the County.  Mr Bellone directly implicated the District Attorney, Thomas Spota, as being involved.  Mr. Bellone called for District Attorney Spota to resign from office based upon this, “culture of corruption.”

Consequently, District Attorney Spota, who did not take kindly to the accusation, responded with his own accusation, claiming that Steve Bellone has a “personal vendetta against me for investigating and prosecuting people that he is close to…”

So which is it?  Is it the County District Attorney who is corrupt?  Is it the County Executive who is corrupt?  Or are they both part of the “culture of corruption?”

It is my personal belief that there is, has been, and will continue to be a “culture of corruption” in Suffolk County that includes, but is not limited to, the County Executive and the County District Attorney.  The public display of finger pointing between the two is an indicator of just how bad things are.

As your County Sheriff, my first order of business will be to clean up this culture of corruption that plagues our county.  I will investigate all allegations of wrongdoing, I will present my findings before the Grand Jury, and I will arrest the violators based upon a Grand Jury indictment.

The “culture of corruption” in Suffolk County is real and everyone is subject to oversight by the People through the Grand Jury.

It is time to change the face of Suffolk County Government.  It is time to transition from a “culture of corruption” to a culture of virtue, integrity and trust.  I cannot do this alone!

Every legislative seat in Suffolk County is up for election this year.  If you are a person of virtue, integrity, and trust, then please consider running for a legislative seat.   If you are interested, please contact me at and we’ll get you on the ballot for November.

Anyone but them.

I’m not them…and neither are you.
